Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้ เป็นการศึกษาค่าวซอเรื่องเจ้าสุวัตร นางบัวคำ โดยเน้นหนักไปในด้านวรรณคดีวิจารณ์ ผู้เขียนได้แบ่งวิทยานิพนธ์ออกเป็น 5 บท ในบทนำ กล่าวถึงความเป็นมาของปัญหา ความมุ่งหมายของการวิจัย ขอบเขตของการวิจัย และวิธีการดำเนินการวิจัยตามลำดับ บทที่สอง กล่าวถึงที่มาและลักษณะค่าวซอของลานนาไทย บทที่สาม กล่าวถึงเรื่องย่อและที่มาของค่าวซอเรื่องเจ้าสุวัตร นางบัวคำ และผู้เขียนได้เสนอข้อสันนิษฐานเกี่ยวกับผู้แต่งค่าวซอเรื่องนี้เอาไว้ด้วย บทที่สี่ ผู้เขียนได้กล่าวถึงการศึกษาค่าวซอเรื่องเจ้าสุวัตร นางบัวคำ ในเชิงวรรณคดีวิจารณ์ ในด้านลักษณะของเรื่อง ลักษณะตัวละคร ความไพเราะ ภาพพจน์ อารมณ์สะเทือนใจและจินตนาการที่ได้จากเรื่อง ตลอดจนการสอดแทรกภาพของสังคมลานนาไทยบางประการ ในสมัยนั้น ลงในเนื้อเรื่อง อันแสดงถึงอิทธิพลของสังคมที่มีต่อวรรณกรรมเรื่องนี้ ส่วนบทสุดท้าย เป็นการสรุปผลการวิจัยว่า ค่าวซอเรื่องจ้าวสุวัตร นางบัวคำ เป็นวรรณกรรมชาวบ้านที่มุ่งจะให้ความบันเทิงใจ เป็นสำคัญ ผู้เขียนได้เสนอแนะให้มีการชำระต้นฉบับค่าวซอเรื่องนี้เพื่อให้เป็นมาตรฐานและเป็นประโยชน์แก่ผู้ที่จะศึกษาวรรณกรรมลานนาไทยต่อไป และควรจะมีการศึกษาวรรณกรรมลานนาไทยเรื่องอื่นๆ ในด้านวรรณคดีวิจารณ์และวรรณคดีเปรียบเทียบด้วย

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

This thesis is a study of "Khao so Chao Suwat and Nang Buakham" (the lyrical poem on Chao Suwat and Nang Buakham), the emphasis being on the critical aspect of study. The writer has divided this thesis into five chapters. The introductory chapter gives the purpose, scope and method of the study. The second chapter refers to the sources and characteristics of "Khao so", Northern Thai poetic form. The third chapter summarizes the story and discusses the source of "Khao so Chao Suwat and Nang Buakham" and the author's identity. The fourth chapter gives a study of “Khao so Chao Suwat and Nang Buaknam" in the field of critical literature, concentrating on 1ts characteristics: the characterization the beauty of poetic diction, imagery, emotion and imaginative qualities including references to the conditions of Northern Thai society. The last chapter contains a concluding statement on the most str1king features of Khao so Chao Suwat and Nang Buakham as a folk - literature which servos the purpose of recreational art. Finally the writer has proposed the rivision and standard1zation of the manuscript of this Khao go as a valuable contribution for those who are interested in studying Northern Thai Literature. The writor has also suggested that critical and comparative studies of this work should be widely undertaken.
