Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้ ผู้เขียนมีความมุ่งหมายที่จะเก็บรวบรวมปัญหาของงานเทคนิคในห้องสมุดด้านนี้มาวิเคราะห์เสนอแนะหลักเกณฑ์ต่าง ๆ ซึ่งตำราการทำบัตรรายการหนังสือภาษาไทยอื่น ๆ ยังไม่ได้ทำไว้อย่างสมบูรณ์ ในการค้นคว้าผู้เขียนได้ค้นหาและรวบรวมหลักฐานต่าง ๆ จากหลักเกณฑ์การทำบัตรรายการของหนังสือภาษาต่างประเทศและหลักเกณฑ์การทำบัตรรายการหนังสือภาษาไทยเปรียบเทียบกันในข้อที่เกี่ยวกับภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทยโดยเฉพาะก็ใช้ตำราเกี่ยวกับกฎหมาย หลักภาษาไทย ตำนานคณะสงฆ์ และเอกสารทางประวัติศาสตร์ปะรกอบด้วย เพื่อสรุปผลวิเคราะห์ปัญหาและให้ข้อเสนอแนะในด้านต่าง ๆ เหล่านี้ คือ 1. ข้อเสนอในการพิจารณาคัดลอกข้อความมาทำบัตรรายการเพื่อช่วยการค้นคว้าของการใช้ห้องสมุดสำหรับหนังสือที่ไม่มีหน้าปกใน หรือหน้าปกในมีข้อความไม่ครบถ้วนที่จะลงรายการ หนังสือที่มีหน้าปกในหลายหน้าและหนังสือที่มีหน้าปกใน 2 หน้าอยู่คู่กันในเล่มเดียว 2. ข้อเสนอในการจัดทำตารางเลขหนังสือแบบสำเร็จรูปที่ใช้กับชื่อผู้แต่งคนไทยได้โดยละเอียดเพื่อให้เลขเรียกหนังสือเป็นสัญลักษณ์ที่มีประสิทธิภาพในการค้นหาและเก็บหนังสือ 3. ส่วนสำคัญที่สุดของวิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้ คือ การวิเคราะห์และเสนอแบบแผนการลงชื่อผู้ต่างคนไทย ซึ่งมักจะประกอบด้วย บรรดาศักดิ์ ราชทินนาม ยศ ฉายานาม สมณศักดิ์ สกุลยศ อิสริยยศ ตำแหน่งพระบรมวงศานุวงศ์ โดยละเอียด นอกเหนือไปจากการพิจารณาเพื่อลงรายการผู้แต่งสำหรับหนังสือประเภทต่าง ๆ ที่อาศัยหลักเกณฑ์การทำบัตรรายการของหนังสือภาษาต่างประเทศเป็นหลัก 4. รายการอื่น ๆ นอกจากนี้ ที่นำมาวิเคราะห์และเสนอแบบแผนได้แก่ บรรณลักษณ์ หมายเหตุ แนวสืบค้น ก็มีการค้นคว้าเพิ่มเติมการลงรายการให้ตรงกับความนิยมในการผลิต และการใช้หนังสือไทยด้วยเช่นเดียวกัน

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The purpose of this study is to bring out problems in technical process with special reference to the cataloging rules of Thai books, and to make suggestions as to the additional cataloging rules which did not appeare in the existing texts in this field. “A.L.A. Cataloging Rules for Author and Title Eutries," “Rules for Descriptive Cataloging in the Library of Congress" and “Cataloging Rules for Thai Books" in various editions have been consulted, and most proposed cataloging rules are based on them. In addition, other Thai source books in relating subjects have been used in the analyses of problems. Results of the study include : 1. The proposed rules concerning the description of books without title pages, books with incomplete title pages, and books with multiple title pages. 2. The proposed schedule of book mumbers for Thai books, which will help accelerate the searching and the shelfing of Thai books. 3. The major part of the thesis is the proposed cataloging entries for Thai names of all kinds as a supplement to other existing rules. 4. Other proposed cataloging rules concern with other ites on a catalog card including imprint, collection, notes, tracing, for used specifically to Thai books.
