Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพี่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการทำกิจกรรมทางสังคมและการใช้พื้นที่ในชุมชนของชาวไตบ้านเมืองปอน จ.แม่ฮ่องสอน เพี่อใช้เป็นแนวทางในการจัดระเบียบพื้นที่ที่สอดคล้องเหมาะสมกับสภาพของชุมชน การศึกษาแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วน คือ 1) ศึกษาลักษณะของชุมชนในด้านภูมิศาสตร์ เศรษฐกิจ สังคม วัฒนธรรมรูปแบบการตั้งถิ่นฐาน และวิวัฒนาการชุมชน เพี่อหาอิทธิพลที่มีผลต่อการตัดสินใจแสดงพฤติกรรมหรือการทำกิจกรรมทางสังคมของคนไตในชุมชน และ 2) ศึกษารูปแบบการทำกิจกรรมทางสังคมและการใช้พื้นที่ของคนไตในชุมชน ว่ามีลักษณะและทิศทางการเปลี่ยนแปลงไปในรูปแบบใด จากการศึกษาพบว่า ปัจจัยสำคัญที่ทำให้ชุมชนมีวิวัฒนาการในด้านต่างๆ มาอย่างต่อเนื่อง และส่งผลให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงของรูปแบบการตั้งถิ่นฐานและองค์ประกอบโครงสร้างทางกายภาพ ตลอดจนมีผลไปถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงพฤติกรรมการทำกิจกรรมทางสังคมและการใช้พื้นที่ของคนไตในชุมชน ได้แก่ ปัจจัยด้านการคมนาคมขนส่งและการสื่อสารปัจจัยด้านเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ปัจจัยด้านวัฒนธรรม และปัจจัยด้านประชากร นอกจากนี้อายุ เพศ สถานภาพ การศึกษาและอาชีพของคนในชุมชนเองก็มีผลต่อรูปแบบการทำกิจกรรมทางสังคมและการใช้พื้นที่เช่นกัน กิจกรรมทางสังคมที่ทำในชุมชนแบ่งได้ 2 ประเภท หลัก คือ กิจกรรมที่เกี่ยวกับศาสนาและความเชื่อ และกิจกรรมทั่วไป โดยมีการใช้พื้นที่เพี่อทำกิจกรรมดังกล่าว 4 บริเวณ คือ พื้นที่ในบ้าน ละแวกบ้าน ในชุมชน และนอกชุมชน การทำกิจกรรมเกี่ยวกับศาสนาและความเชื่อมีแนวโน้มลดลงอย่างเห็นได้ชัดในกลุ่มคนรุ่นใหม่ ขณะที่การทำกิจกรรมทั่วไปเปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามช่วงชีวิตและรสนิยมของแต่ละคน แนวทางการจัดระเบียบพื้นที่ที่เสนอมี 2 ด้าน คือ ด้านกายภาพ เน้นการควบคุมการขยายตัวและการใช้พื้นที่ให้สอดคล้องกับลักษณะทางวัฒนธรรมและสภาพแวดล้อมชุมชน และด้านสังคมและวัฒนธรรมเน้นการส่งเสริมจิตสำนึกในวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นของคนในชุมชน เพี่อให้เห็นคุณค่าอันจะนำไปสู่การอนุรักษ์และปรับใช้ให้เหมาะสมกันวิถีชีวิตชุมชนปัจจุบัน

Other Abstract (Other language abstract of ETD)

The objective of this thesis is to study the relationships between social activities and community space utilization of the Tai at Ban Muang Pon, Mae Hong Son Province in order to propose suggestions for community space organization. The studying is divided into 2 parts : i) studying community backgrounds on geography, economy, society, culture, settlement pattern, and evolution; and ii) studying social activity patterns, community space utilization, and trends. The study reveals that there are 4 important factors affecting community characteristics and cause changes in social activities and community space utilization. They are transportation and communication, socio-economic attribute, culture, population structure, sex, social status, educational background, and occupation also affect settlement pattern, social activities, and space utilization. The social activities can be classified into sacred activities and profane activities. Community space utilization can be classified into 4 areas: home, neighborhood, community, and outside community. The sacred activities tends to decrease, especially among the new generation; profane activities vary depending on age groups and individual preferences. Two approaches for community space organization are proposed. The physical approach emphasizes on community growth and land use controls in harmonizing with cultural background and community environment. The social and cultural approach emphasizes on acknowledging local people of the value of their local culture which will lead to proper conservation and adaptation for their present way of life.
