Abstract
This article proposes guidelines for the usage of the French definite and indefinite articles. I analyze the problem of using wrong-type articles by Thai learners of French. This difficulty seems to be rooted in the lack of understanding of the meaning of the articles. The survey of books for lea rners of French, written by both Thai and French authors, suggests that most explanations on the use of the articles focus on the "form" and not the "meaning". I thus explain the semantic role of the articles with regard to nouns. I provide guidelines for using the definite and indefinite articles, grouped by meanings, along with explanations and examples in a comparative fashion.(บทความนี้อธิบายหลักการใช้คํานําหน้านามภาษาฝรั่งเศส article defini และ article indefini ผู้วิจัยวิเคราะห์ปัญหาการใช้ คํานําหน้านามผิดประเภทของผู้เรียนชาวไทย ปัญหาอันอาจมีสาเหตุมาจากความไม่เข้าใจความหมายของคํานําหน้านาม การสํารวจหนังสือเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสที่ แต่งโดยชาวไทยและแบบเรียนภาษาฝรั่งเศสที่ แต่งโดยเจ้าของภาษา ชี้ให้เห็นว่าคําอธิบายคํานําหน้านามส่วนใหญ่เน้น "รูป " แต่ไม่ได้ให้ความสําคัญกับ "ความหมาย" ผู้วิจัยจึงอธิบายหน้าที่ทางความหมายของคํานําหน้านามที่มีต่อคํานาม และ สรุปหลักการใช้ article defini-indefini ตาม ความหมาย พร้อมกับให้คําอธิบายและตัวอย่างเชิงเปรียบเทียบ)
