Abstract

Thirty-four Trigeminal neuralgia cases were diagnosed and treated in the Oral Diagnosis clinic, Department of Oral Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University during 1966-1980. It occured that mandibular branch and maxillary branch happened to be this disease at the same rate. Trigeminal neuralgia was found in females 2 times more than males and the right side more than the left. Most of them aged between 40-60 year. The youngest one, 24 years old, had the history of trauma.(ผู้ป่วย Trigeminal neuralgia ที่ได้รับการวินิจฉัยและการรักษาจากคลินิค ตรวจพิเคราะห์ภาควิชาเวชศาสตร์ช่องปาก คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยตั้งแต่ปี 2509 - 2523 ทั้งหมด 34 ราย ปรากฏว่าการเกิดโรคนี้แขนง mandibular และแขนง maxillary เกิดได้เท่า ๆ กัน Trigeminal neuralgia พบในหญิงมากกว่าชาย 2:1 เป็นด้านขวามากกว่าด้านซ้าย ส่วนใหญ่ผู้ป่วยจะมีอายุ ระหว่าง 40 - 60 ปี ผู้ป่วยรายที่มีอายุน้อยที่สุดอายุ 24 ปี มีประวัติจาก trauma)
