Abstract
The study of the health of dentists part II, about the works of the dentists found that, most of the dentist started there practices right after the graduation and worked continuously with some absences. The main reason for those absences was for further studies and trainings. Seventy percents of dentists in this study worked both for the government and private sectors by treating 20 patients within 8.7 hours per day. The others worked only for the government or their own private clinics with less number of patients and working hours. Most of private dentists worked in the clinic with only their own-training assistants while the government ones always did with colleagues such as physicians and nurses beside the assistants. Most of the practices were set up in Bangkok in separate or side concrete buildings with air-conditioned in most of the private dental operations. The dentists considered that there are some air pollution around their clinics. The positions of the dentists while doing dental treatments could be grouped in 2 favors, i.e., more standing than sitting for the government dentists and more sitting for the private ones. More than half of the dentists went to their offices by their own vehicles.(รายงานการศึกษาเรื่อง สุขภาพของทันตแพทย์ ตอนที่ 2 เกี่ยวกับการทํางาน ของทันตแพทย์พบว่า ทันตแพทย์ส่วนใหญ่ประกอบวิชาชีพทันทีหลังจากจบการศึกษา และทํางานมาโดยตลอดจนถึงปัจจุบัน สาเหตุของการหยุดทํางานไปบ้าง ส่วนใหญ่ ได้แก่ การไปศึกษาต่อทั้งนอกและในประเทศ 70% ของทันตแพทย์ที่ตอบแบบ สอบถาม ทํางานโดยรับราชการและประกอบวิชาชีพส่วนตัวด้วย โดยลงมือทํางาน ทันตกรรมเอง ซึ่งใช้เวลาประมาณวันละ 8.7 ชั่วโมง และมีจํานวนคนไข้เฉลี่ย 20 คนต่อวัน นอกจากนั้นทํางานโดยรับราชการหรือประกอบวิชาชีพส่วนตัวเพียงอย่างเดียว โดยมีชั่วโมงการทํางานและจํานวนคนไข้น้อยกว่าผู้ประกอบอาชีพทั้งสองอย่าง ในการประกอบอาชีพส่วนตัวนั้น ส่วนใหญ่ทันตแพทย์ทํางานโดยลําพัง ไม่มี บุคลากรอื่นนอกจากผู้ช่วยทํางานบางอย่างเท่านั้น แต่การทําราชการ ส่วนใหญ่จะมีผู้ร่วมงานเป็นแพทย์และทันตแพทย์อื่น สถานที่ทํางานของทันตแพทย์มากกว่าครึ่ง หนึ่งอยู่ในกรุงเทพมหานคร และมีลักษณะเป็นตึกหรือตึกแถว ส่วนใหญ่ติดเครื่องปรับอากาศในคลินิคส่วนตัว และทันตแพทย์มีความเห็นว่าสถานที่ทํางานตั้งอยู่ในสภาวะอากาศเป็นพิษน้อย ในขณะทํางานสําหรับทันตแพทย์ที่รับราชการจะยืนมาก กว่านั่ง แต่ในคลินิคส่วนตัวส่วนใหญ่จะนั่งมากกว่ายืน และกว่าครึ่งของทันตแพทย์เดินทางมาทํางานโดยพาหนะส่วนตัว)
