Abstract
A first case report of Melioidosis caused by acute osteomyelitis in Thailand at Maharaj Nakornrachasema Hospital is presented. The patient was proper diagnosed and then was im- midiately treated; however, the virulence of disease can cause a rapid destruction of mandible. The diagnosis of this disease is considered. Clinician should aware of such a misdiagnosed case. Consequently, severe complication may be occured. (บทรายงานผู้ป่วยโรค เมลิออยโดสิส (Melioidosis) ซึ่งแสดงภาวะในรูปลักษณะของกระดูกขากรรไกรล่างอักเสบเฉียบพลัน (Acute Osteomyelitis of mandible) รายแรกในโรงพยาบาลมหาราชนครราชสีมา และยังไม่เคยพบรายงานของโรคนี้ที่เกิดขึ้นในช่องปากและกระดูกขากรรไกรในประเทศไทยเลย ผู้ป่วยได้รับการวินิจฉัยได้ถูกต้องรวดเร็วและสามารถให้การรักษาอย่างเร่งด่วน แม้ว่าความรุนแรงของสภาวะการติดเชื้อของโรคจะทําลาย กระดูกขากรรไกรล่างไปอย่างรวดเร็วก็ตาม รายงานนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเผยแพร่เป็นตัวอย่างให้ผู้ประกอบวิชาชีพทันตกรรมพึงสังวรณ์ระวังอาการ ที่ไม่พึงประสงค์หรืออาการแทรกซ้อน ทําให้เกิดอาการร้ายแรงเกินกว่าจะคาดฝันได้)
