Abstract

A longitudinal study of complete retention of pit and fissure sealant was conducted in the six years age group and eight years age group. Light curing sealant was applied on full eruption permanent molars without caries. After 3 years, the results showed that a complete retention of the six years age group and eight years age group were 51.31% and 30.4% respectively. The occurrence of caries after sealant coming off were 15.4% in the six years age group and 6.3% in the eight years age group. The difference was statistically significant (p< 0.001).(วัตถุประสงค์ของการศึกษาเพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถการยึดติดที่สมบูรณ์ของสารซีแลนท์ต่อเด็กอายุ 6 ปีและ 8 ปี โดยทําการเคลือบหลุมร่องฟันกรามถาวรที่ขึ้นเต็มที่และยังไม่มีรอยผุ ด้วยสารซีแลนท์ที่แข็งตัวด้วยแสง จํานวนฟันที่เหลือตรวจที่ระยะ 3 ปี กลุ่มเด็ก 6 ปี 226 ซี่ กลุ่มเด็ก 8 ปี 283 ซี่ ผลปรากฏว่ากลุ่ม 6 ปี มีค่าความสมบูรณ์ของการยึดติดของสารซีแลนท์ดีกว่ากลุ่ม 8 ปี คือมีค่าร้อยละ 51.3 และร้อยละ 30.4 ตามลําดับ ส่วนการเกิดมีฟันผุหลังการเคลือบซีแลนท์แล้วหลุด กลุ่มเด็ก 6 ปี มีค่ามากกว่ากลุ่ม 8 ปี คือมีค่าร้อยละ 15.5 และ 6.4 ตามลําดับ จากการทดสอบทางสถิติแสดงว่าผลการเคลือบหลุมร่องฟันในเด็กอายุ 6 ปี และ 8 ปี แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (p < 0.001))
