Abstract
The Contract Dentist Project was launched by the government to solve the problem of lacking dentists in the rural areas. The government specified that the dentist having graduated since 1989 was the contract dentist. It is incumbent upon all contract dentists to work for the government in the specific areas for 3 years. However, the subsequent problem is the indemnifying 400,000 baht for rescinding the contracts by the contract dentists. The problem has an inclination to increase every year. The development of the dental faculty members' abilities is one of the crucial ways to alleviate this problem.(โครงการทันตแพทย์ผู้ทําสัญญา เป็นโครงการที่รัฐบาลดําเนินการเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาการขาดแคลนทันตแพทย์ในเขตชนบท โดยกําหนดให้ทันตแพทย์ที่สําเร็จการศึกษาตั้งแต่ปี 2532 เป็นต้นไป เป็นทันตแพทย์ผู้ทําสัญญาที่ต้องทํางานให้รัฐบาลในพื้นที่ที่กําหนด เป็นเวลา 3 ปี อย่างไรก็ตาม ปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นตามมาก็คือ การชดใช้ทุนเป็นเงิน 400,000 บาท ของทันตแพทย์คู่สัญญาเพื่อที่จะไม่ต้องเข้ารับราชการตามสัญญา และแนวโน้มการชดใช้ทุนดังกล่าวมีแต่จะเพิ่มขึ้นทุกปี การพัฒนาความสามารถของอาจารย์ทันตแพทย์เป็นวิธีที่สําคัญประการหนึ่งในการ บรรเทาปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นดังกล่าว)
