Abstract

Complete denture patients should be educated from the beginning of the treatment. This can be achieved through both verbal and written instructions. The instructions include the nature of complete denture, first oral feeling, excessive salivation and taste of food. The patient is also explained of self adjust of speaking, eating and proper tongue positure to enhance the stabitity of the denture. The necessity of balanced diet in maintaining the tissue health is also discussed. In addition, the important role of regular dental care and the harmful of do-it-yourself dentistry are also emphasized. (ทันตแพทย์ต้องอธิบายให้คําแนะนําต่าง ๆ แก่ผู้ป่วยฟันปลอมทั้งปากเกี่ยวกับ ธรรมชาติของฟันปลอม ความรู้สึกครั้งแรกเมื่อเริ่มใส่ฟันปลอม น้ำลายออกมากในช่วงแรก ๆ การพูด การรับประทานอาหารด้วยฟันปลอม รสชาติอาหาร ความจําเป็นของการรับประทานอาหารให้ถูกส่วน การวางลิ้น การรักษาสุขภาพในช่องปาก การทําความสะอาดฟันปลอมให้ถูกวิธี อันตรายของการแก้ไขฟันปลอมด้วยตนเอง และความสําคัญของการกลับมาหาทันตแพทย์ เพื่อตรวจเช็คเป็นประจําเพื่อให้ผู้ป่วยได้รู้และเข้าใจถึงวิธีการใช้งานฟันปลอมอย่างถูกวิธี เพื่อให้ผู้ป่วยใช้งานฟันปลอมได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ)
