Abstract

In Southeast Asia, they routinely use medicinal herb in traditional medicine. The medicinal herbs are prescribed for releiving toothache, treating gum diseases, prevention of dental caries and curing ulcer in oral cavity. Various Southeast Asian medicinal herbs are observed, eg. clove oil, and experimented to point out some certain interest for practical use in the field of dentistry.(การแพทย์แผนโบราณในภูมิภาคเอเซียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้มีการใช้สมุนไพรมาตลอด ทางด้านทันตกรรมมีการใช้เป็นยาแก้ปวดฟัน รักษาเหงือกอักเสบ ป้องกันโรคฟันผุ รวมทั้งเป็นยาสมานแผลในช่องปาก มีสมุนไพรหลายชนิดที่ใช้อยู่และศึกษากันต่อ ๆ มาเช่น น้ำมันกานพลู แต่ยังมีสมุนไพรอีกหลายชนิดซึ่งน่าสนใจที่จะวิจัยหาเหตุผลและนํามาใช้เป็นยาทางทันตกรรม)
