Abstract
The vascular pattern of the gingival crevice in relating to the alveolar bone was studied in rats using the SEM vascular casting technique. The crevicular vasculature demonstrated two types of morphology: planar plexus and coiled vascular loop. The planar plexuses were found subjacent to the crevicular epithelium extending from the gingival margin to the epithelium attachment while the coiled loops were found at the middle third of the crevice. The loops arise from the ascending vessels of the planar network underneath, coiled and drained into the larger vessels refered to post-capillary venules and collecting venules. The variation of the vascular architecture related to alveolar bone was evidenced. The coiled vascular loops of the maxillar and mandibular buccal gingival crevice were more obvious than those of the palatal and lingual sides. The loops were not observed around incisors. (จากการศึกษาโครงสร้างหลอดเลือดของเหงือกหนูด้วยวิธีฉีดสารพลาสติกเข้าไปในหลอดเลือดศึกษา ภายใต้กล้องจุลทรรศน์อิเล็กตรอนแบบส่องกราด พบว่าหลอดเลือดของเหงือกส่วนจินจิวอล เครวิซ (gingival crevice) มีโครงสร้าง 2 ชนิด คือชนิดข่าย (planar plexus) และชนิดขดตัวเป็นแถว (coiled vascular loop) ชนิดตาข่ายพบภายใต้เยื่อบุผิวตั้งแต่ขอบเหงือกลงไปถึงส่วนที่แนบติดผิวฟัน ชนิดขดตัวพบบริเวณแถบกลางของเครวิซ โดยทอดต่อเนื่องตั้งฉากขึ้นมาจากตาข่ายที่อยู่ชั้นลึกกว่า ขดตัวและบิดเป็นเกลียวเป็นระเบียบแล้วจึงเทลงสู่เส้นเลือดดําในชั้นลึกของเหงือก โครงสร้างนี้มีลักษณะแตกต่างตามตําแหน่งของกระดูกขากรรไกร เหงือก ด้านแก้มของขากรรไกรบนและล่างปรากฏโครงสร้างทั้ง 2 ชนิดเด่นชัด เหงือกด้านเพดานและลิ้นปรากฏโครงสร้างชนิดตาข่ายหนาแน่นกว่าชนิดขดตัว ส่วนเหงือกรอบฟันหน้าปรากฏเป็นตาข่ายประสานกับเส้นเลือด ของกระดูกแอลวีโอลาร์ ไม่พบลักษณะที่ขดตัว)
